CSR

At Sosandar, we understand that our business has an impact on the world around us and we are committed to making this impact a positive one. Our approach to making this a reality is broken into the three key areas: Ethical Operations (a fair, transparent and collaborative supply chain), Environmental Sustainability (minimising the footprint left on the natural world) and Fabulous Sosandar (an inclusive and uplifting workplace).

Partnership approach

GXO Logistics

We are committed to sourcing our products from suppliers who share our belief in operating responsibly and with integrity. These partnerships play a key role in our commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable and long-lasting fashion.

All our suppliers and factories undergo rigorous audits, undertaken by industry recognised auditing bodies, to ensure adherence to best practice standards, and guaranteeing compliance across our global supply chain by:

  • Working with key partners and suppliers in countries including China, Turkey, India and the wider EU territories.
  • Continuously reviewing our best practices and enforce our Code of Conduct, covering ethical and social compliance, across our supply base.
  • Collating independent audits on an annual basis, and safeguarding that our global supply chain complies with local and international laws and best practice standards. The two most frequently used are:
    • SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit).
    • BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative).
  • Establishing long-term, close-knit relationships with any new suppliers, with open and regular dialogue, and nurturing and solidifying relationships with our existing long-term partners.
  • Partnering with GXO Logistics, who also share a clear focus on being a responsible business across their operations.  Their commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles impacts everything they do, including designing safe and sustainable operations that reduce waste and energy consumption.

Environmental Sustainability

Sustainable sourcing

Minimising waste

Recycling

Our clothing is designed and manufactured to be robust and long lasting.

  • We are on the road to increasing our level of more responsibly sourced and recycled fibres in our ranges. Some of our key goals and achievements are:
    • Aiming to have all our cotton responsibly sourced by 2030.
    • Increased use of recycled polyester within our swimwear ranges.
    • 100% of our leather is, and will continue to be, sourced from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG) as gold and silver tanneries. LWG ensures best practices and responsible leather production.
    • Denim continues to be produced in a way that minimises water usage, as well as utilising ethically sourced cotton.
    • Lenzing™️ EcoVero™️ makes up more of our viscose yarns across woven, jersey fabrics and knitwear each season.
    • Product teams constantly strive to increase our sustainability credentials, whilst remaining on brand.
    • In January 2021 we introduced new consumer packaging – ‘Green PE’ polythene bags, which are made from sugar cane and are recyclable and carbon negative.
    • In addition, as of 2022 all our garments are shipped in a polybag made of 100% recycled materials.
    • From July 2024 all new garment production will have labelling manufactured with 100% recycled fibres.
    • We continue to ensure the majority of our goods from overseas arrive to us via sea, rail or road and have made a conscious effort to reduce our use of air freight. We have achieved this by increasing the proportion of stock traditionally transported by air to sea and rail freight methods, to help reduce our emissions and impact on the environment.

    Fabulous Sosandar

    • We provide a health and wellbeing service for all employees and their families to access should they need help or support.

    Modern Slavery Statement

We oppose slavery in all its forms, and we are pleased to outline the steps and activities Sosandar is currently taking to prevent modern slavery across our business and supply chain, along with our commitments for 2024 – 2025 which we have set out in our Modern Slavery Statement.
